Adelaide SQL Server User Group

Welcome

Welcome to the Adelaide PASS group - covering SQL Server and every aspect of the Microsoft Data Platform and Data Analytics space. You can find us on the 3rd Wednesday of the month, at the Microsoft offices, Level 12, 147 Pirie St.

There's a link below to get on the mailing list.

We use EventBrite for meeting registrations - please look at adssug.eventbrite.com for a list of our meetings.

Previously, we used sqlserver.org.au, and you can see an archive of events on that site - but the Adelaide mailing list from there hasn't been used for some time.

Our next meeting is: Wed, Jun 18 2014 12:00 to 14:00 in Adelaide.

Automating Deployments with PowerShell
Some aspects of SQL Server installations are easily repeatable using things like config files and command line installs. However, so much of the preparation and post-install configuration still needs to be done manually. This session will show how Powershell can be used to prep the servers (including how easy it can be to deploy a cluster) and how Powershell can then be used to deploy and configure SQL Server according to your company standards.

Speaker: Martin Cairney
Martin has over 15 years’ experience in SQL Server technologies. His experience spans both the Database Engine and infrastructure requirements, and Data Warehousing and BI implementations. He's worked across many industry sectors including London’s global financial institutions and both State and Federal Government Departments. He is a SQL Server MVP, MCT and an experienced conference presenter, having presented at PASS Summit, SQLBits, and SQL Saturday events and User Groups round the world
