Adelaide SQL Server User Group

Welcome

Welcome to the Adelaide PASS group - covering SQL Server and every aspect of the Microsoft Data Platform and Data Analytics space. You can find us on the 3rd Wednesday of the month, at the Microsoft offices, Level 12, 147 Pirie St.

There's a link below to get on the mailing list.

We use EventBrite for meeting registrations - please look at adssug.eventbrite.com for a list of our meetings.

Previously, we used sqlserver.org.au, and you can see an archive of events on that site - but the Adelaide mailing list from there hasn't been used for some time.

Don’t call me crazy, Biml is not just for BI
Biml for a DBA? Hang on a minute, Biml is for Business Intelligence developers right? A DBA is primarily responsible for the administration and day-to-day running of SQL Server environments. What does BI have to do with administration and day-to-day tasks? Environment Migrations, Environment Refreshes and DB Maintenance are just a couple of key tasks that a DBA wil need to worry about in their environment. In this session I will introduce Biml & BimlScript to the DBA outlining with a framework in place, how these tasks can be implemented in a standard and consisten fashion. With the use of some demo’s showing how Biml can make life easier for the DBA and bust he myth that Biml & BimlScript are only for Business Intelligence developers.
